The old west Coffeyville wasn't all gunfights and bank robberies - The Brown Mansion shows how elegance was defined in the later years of 'The Wild West'. Built at the turn of the 20th Century. Lots of interesting things, and there are night time ghost tours given a few times each year. $7.50 Adult ticket to tour.

Aviation Heritage Museum, 2002 Buckeye, Coffeyville, KS. Open Saturday and Sunday 1 PM to 4 PM. Phone: 620-515-0232. Donations are accepted in lieu of admission.

One of the aircraft on display is a single engine monoplane built by Funk Aircraft Manufacturing, which was located here at the Jensen Airport in 1946 and 1947. The aircraft is rare, with only 240 examples built, but it sure was fun to fly.

Dalton Defenders Museum, 113 East 8th St, Coffeyville, KS.

The brazen Dalton Gang tried to rob TWO banks at the same time. The citizens of Coffeyville didn't take well to that dubious enterprise. After a fierce gunfight four of the six gang members were dead, as were four upstanding citizens. The museum contains not only items relating to the Dalton Raid but also relating to early-day life in Coffeyville. $7.50 Adult ticket includes admission to Brown Mansion.
