Cove Creek Falls. Three and one hjalf miles north of the Pisgah Forest Ranger Station to Forest Road 475. Turn west and ride 1.5 miles to an intersection just beyond the fish hatchery and ride another 1.5 miles to the Cove Creek group camping area. This is a dirt road, be careful. At the end of this road is a parking area and path to the falls. 60 Foot drop fall is found after about a mile on the trail. Take water and a snack, this isn't a quick in, snap a photo, and dash away visit. Looking Glass Falls. Five and one half miles from Pisgah Forest Ranger Station. 65 Foot drop just off the roadside. Well marked, decent parking area. Has wooden deck walkway to observation area. GOOD rest stop and photo opportunity. Moore Cove Falls. One mile north of Looking Glass Falls. 50 Foot drop over a rocky outcrop. Visitors can walk behind the fall and take photos outbound! Well marked, decent parking area. Follow the foot bridge, it's about a one mile hike out and back. Slick Rock Falls. Follow the directions for Cove Cave, but at the fish hatchery turn right on FR-475B for just over a mile. 35 Foot drop that is best seen in wet weather. During dry times this can reduce to just a trickle. Not well marked, look for the trail head bulletin board and follow the path about 100 feet to the falls. Sliding Rock. Seven miles north of the ranger station. Well marked. Fee charged for parking at this popular swimming spot. The gentle falls here carrying about 11,000 gallons of water per minute. There is a lifeguard on duty during summer season. Consider this a Wet And Wild amusement slide without the outrageous admission fee. But there are often lines to get into the stream above the falls and take the drop into the six foot deep plunge pool.
