The prominent placement of this memorial, on the city's main street, shows the pride of a small community for the efforts made by previous generation. In 1925, most of the soldiers in gray had already died but their service was still clearly felt.
"The tumult and shouting dies, the Captains and Kings depart, Lord, God of hosts be with us yet, lest we forget, lest we forget."
